Tinajo is a municipality in the Las Palmas province, located on the island of Lanzarote with an area of 135.28 km2 and 6,573 inhabitants. It limits with Yaiza, with Teguise and with Tías. Tinajo's economy is based mainly on the service sector, agriculture, livestock and fishing. The municipality has 3.3 km of coastline distributed in 11 black sand beaches.
